NFL draft prospects: Boston, Michigan, Michigan State, Boston College, Ohio State and Michigan State in the first round, Notre Dame, LSU, Oklahoma and UCLA in the second round, Clemson, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and South Carolina in the third round, Michigan and Stanford in the fourth round and Notre Dame and Texas A & M in the fifth round article Boston College is considered the favorite to land Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota with the first pick of the first draft.
But Michigan State’s Jake Rudock and Notre-Dame and Michigan are considered to be more likely than Michigan to land a quarterback, according to NFL Network’s Michael Rothstein.
Draft analyst Adam Schefter believes Oregon’s Sam Darnold is the best quarterback in the draft.
Schefter: Mariota, Darnolds, Davenport, Rudock the best quarterbacks in the class.
Schefter: Will the Eagles take a QB?
Schefter reports Oregon’s quarterback situation is unclear and that they’re not in the market for a franchise quarterback.
The Ducks have made no official offers for Mariota since he was released by Arizona.
Michigan State has the No. 2 pick, but the Spartans haven’t made any official moves.
The Wolverines, who have one pick in the top 10, would like to land one of the top five quarterbacks.
The top five teams would have the opportunity to trade picks, according the NFL Network report.
Schefters’ first mock draft comes just hours after Ohio State coach Urban Meyer revealed that he’d like to bring in Mariota.
Meyer said at a news conference Friday that Mariota would be the best fit for Ohio State if the Buckeyes decide to take a quarterback.
Ohio State would have to pay a premium to land Mariota and could only afford to pay the top four picks, as well as a fourth-round pick if the Spartans want to trade up to draft a quarterback with the No-1 pick.
The Eagles are expected to be among the first teams to take Mariota if the team decides to take the quarterback with their first pick.
However, the team has been rumored to be considering moving up in the selection process to select Oregon quarterback Carson Wentz with the sixth pick in order to land the quarterback.
In addition to Mariota’s potential suitors, the Eagles could also consider taking Wisconsin’s Jameis Winston, the No .
1 overall pick in this year’s draft.
Winston, a Wisconsin product, could potentially become the best player in the 2017 NFL draft.
He would be a logical fit for the Eagles and could be a perfect fit for Chip Kelly and the team’s offensive philosophy.
Winston is a 6-foot-5, 218-pound quarterback who was the No 2 overall pick by the Panthers in 2018.
Winston would be one of several quarterbacks the Eagles would be able to take.
