Melbourne’s first ‘sports bar’ is now back in the city, and it’s a return to the roots of the sport.
Vipbox Sports Bar will be back in town at the Royal Melbourne Hospital this Saturday, November 20th.
The bar will be serving up some of the most popular Australian beer, wine and cocktails to go around, as well as having a range of food options for the casual and serious beer drinkers.
“It’s great to be back,” VipBox CEO Tim Moore said.
“We’re bringing our roots back and it’ll be a lot of fun.”
The bar’s name, however, is actually a bit of a mouthful, as it’s actually a mix between two Australian sports bars, with the latter having its roots in Melbourne’s legendary ‘Hobart’ pub.
“Vipbox has always been about serving great beer, great food and a great experience, and we’re going back to those roots,” Moore said of the move to the Royal.
The move to Melbourne’s Royal Melbourne has been made possible thanks to the generosity of local businesses. “
If you’re an amateur footballer or if you’re just looking for a place to play darts or football or just a place that you can hang out, then Vipball will probably be a better place for you.”

“In Melbourne, there are about 40 pubs and bars that we partner with to create new businesses and make sure we’re providing great entertainment,” Moore explained.
The new venue will feature a bar, restaurant and a barbershop, all with an emphasis on the local. “
There’s pubs that are like a club, and there’s bars that are really hip, but also have their roots in old pub pubs, and they’re really good places to hang out.”

“These spaces are about serving the community,” Moore continued.
I think it’ll help the economy as well.” “
I think that’s a great thing for the city.

Vipboxing was born in Melbourne in 2011, and was established by a group of friends who wanted to make a drink in the same way that the Hobs in Hobart are famous for.
“Hobs is a fantastic place to hang with friends,” Moore told me.
“That’s why we decided to start Vipboxes.
We all knew that Hobart has a really great pub scene and a really good bar scene, but we thought, why not have a place where people could go to have a drink and meet people?”
Vip Box is located at the corner of Royal and Queen streets in the CBD.
