Sports management company Sports Management is opening a Sports Shop on the Dublin waterfront, bringing together the business, retail and restaurant functions in the same space.
The company said it was taking the opportunity to focus on the Irish sports business as it looks to expand globally.
The Sports Shop is the first retail and dining outlet in the Dublin area to be opened by Sports Management, which is based in Dublin.
It has about 500 staff and has been operating in Dublin since 2013.
It will be the first Irish Sports Shop to open in Dublin’s waterfront.
Sport Manager is also expanding its operations in the UK, bringing in more than 300 employees in the area.
Sports Manager said the launch of the new Sports Shop will help it grow in a fast-moving world.
“With Sports Management in the business of sports management we will be able to provide the services that are needed to better support our business and our customers,” Sports Manager Managing Director, Ian McCall said.
“We are thrilled to be bringing our staff together in one place and to be working together in the heart of Dublin, with the support of the City of Dublin.”
A new retail store is also under construction in the city centre.
The first Sports Shop opened in Dublin in 2013.
The location is at the corner of Ballymore Street and Mallow Street.
The new Sports Manager will operate in the Sports Centre of Dublin on the northern part of the city.
Sport Management has been in the sports management business since 1995 and has a strong relationship with Dublin City Council.
Sports Management employs over 800 people across the country and has more than 500 sports management teams across the world.
