The New York Rangers have the most expensive uniforms in NHL History at $5,977.3 million.
That’s $1.9 million more than any other team.
The NHL’s total annual operating costs are $6.5 billion, which is $2.9 billion more than the Rangers’ total annual revenues.
This season, the Rangers were able to spend over $1 billion on player salaries, and have nearly $3 billion in cash on hand.
That gives them an operating profit of $1,898,000, while their payroll is nearly $5 billion.
The Rangers have had some struggles to pay their players, with a $947,500 cap hit for last year’s salary cap and another $5 million hit on the salary cap for the upcoming season.
So far this season, it appears the team will have to spend another $1 million just to get past the salary-cap hit.
